What happens if I stop getting Botox and Filler?

This thought always crosses most peoples minds at some point or another, whether it's before you start on your quest for timeless beauty or whether it's 5 years in.

When this daunting thought drops into your brain it's easy to image all sorts of possible things that might happen such as; your face melting away like a wet cake in a matter of days, or your face going from gorgeous, smooth and wrinkle free to suddenly looking 80 years old!

The good news is these thoughts are thankfully not true.

Botox, Dermal Filler, Maidstone, Kent, Antiaging

So what does happen?

The answer is nothing at all! If you have been having Botox for 10 years and your skin is beautiful and smooth, you don't have any static lines or wrinkles (lucky you!) then you decided that now is the time to grow old gracefully (I'm not sure which crazy people would make this decision, but stay with me...) then your face would begin to age from that point on at an appropriate rate for your age. As the months and years role by and you can make full expression again the lines would gradually creep in.

It's likely that your years of prevention of ageing would go in your favor and even when the lines and wrinkles creep in you still won't be as wrinkled as you might have been if you hadn't done the right thing and got Botox in the first place.

The same goes for Dermal Filler, lines that you have previously filled will gradually return to either their previous state as the Dermal Filler breaks down, or the lines will be softer than before thanks to you doing the right thing.

So how about Lips? You see these Celebs that have dissolved their lip filler and they now have wrinkled loose looking lips. Yes this can happen, BUT it usually happens as a result of chucking ridiculous amounts of Filler in to achieve a beautiful 'stick me to the wind-da' kind of look and overstretching the skin for a long period of time. With subtle well done Lip filler this won't happen and your lips will return to their pre filled state both if you stop getting filler or if you have it dissolved. This is as long as your practitioner isn't going over board with the dissolvent of course, which will then dissolve your own natural hyaluronic acid. This would only be temporary as your body reproduces hyaluronic acid every 24-48 hrs, so it would soon recover your natural lip volume if this happened.

How do I know all this you wonder?

Well it's now been well over year since I had any form of cosmetic treatment, (it is a real life tragedy!) which was most definitely not out of choice since I have constant access to the good stuff! It is due to mother nature blessing me with my fourth child and the joys of Pregnancy, Birth and now Breastfeeding! My beautiful 6 month old daughter for some reason refuses to accept a bottle and therefore has consciously taken the decision to make her Mum look old! Sabotaged by a 6 Month old, unbelievable!

Anyway back to my face, the static lines started to creep in at around 6 months into my pregnancy on my forehead, frown and eyes, and are now becoming noticeable. The lines from my nose to mouth are beginning to appear again and my skin looks dull and tired (thankyou baby girl, for the sleepless nights!). Pre pregnancy I was having regular Botox, annual Filler to my Nasolabial lines, frequent skin boosters (thank the Gods for the blessing of Seventy Hyal, game changer) and lastly the odd subtle tweak to my lips.

So this my friends is how I know first hand that your face will not melt off if you stop getting Botox and Filler. This and also we have never had a client message us to complain and say their Botox is a few months over due and they now look 80!

You can now enjoy the wonders of Botox and Filler without worrying if your face will melt away if you stop! Your welcome!
